The Creative Economy Agency (Public Organization), or CEA, officially launched the Content Project Market (CPM) for its second year, held from 10 – 12 September 2025, at True Digital Park (East), Fl.  6 – 7. The event brings together over 70 leading producers, investors, and streaming platforms, reaffirming Thailand’s potential to leverage content as a soft power driver for economic growth and international recognition.

This year’s CPM features 54 selected projects:

  • 34 projects developed through CEA’s Content Lab 2025 programs, and
  • 20 projects submitted through an open call for professionals.

All projects are showcased through business matching sessions with more than 70 local and international investors and industry players, with CPM expected to generate over 300 business negotiations. As Thailand’s first dedicated content marketplace under Content Lab 2025, the platform connects Thai creators with buyers, investors, and leading platforms worldwide.

Mr. Chaiyong Ratana-Angkura, Chairperson of the Creative Economy Agency, highlighted CPM’s strategic role in advancing the Thai content industry: “Now in its second year, CPM has become a strategic tool for driving the growth of Thailand’s creative economy. More than a content marketplace platform, it is a business ecosystem — connecting Thai creators with film, series, and animation studios, investors, distributors, and global streaming platforms through pitching sessions, business matching, and networking.”

This year’s participants include over 70 prominent companies from Thailand and abroad, such as GDH, Netflix (Thailand), PCCW OTT Thailand (Viu), GMM TV, WeTV, True CJ Creations, The One Enterprise, Base Entertainment (Indonesia), Little Green White (Singapore), Mocha Chai Laboratories (Singapore), Mokster Films (Singapore), Skyline Media (Vietnam), Volos Films (Taiwan), Studio76 Original Productions (Taiwan), and Quezon City Film Commission / QCinema Project Market / Fire and Ice Media and Production (Philippines), etc.

In addition to project pitching, CPM hosts five industry forums featuring insights from 16 international and Thai experts. The talk sessions cover critical topics such as:

  • “Navigating the Landscape of Asian Film Funds: Opportunities and Challenges for Filmmakers”
  • “Co-production and Collaboration in the Asia-Pacific Film Industry: Moving Towards the Global Stage”
  • “Beyond Borders: Strategies for ASEAN Films and Series to Travel and Thrive Across the Region”
  • “Beyond the Budget: How Producers Shape Creative Vision”
  • “The Future of Thai Narrative: Trends Shaping Film and Series Production”

These sessions equip Thai creators and entrepreneurs with practical knowledge, funding access, and strategies to position their films and series effectively on the global stage.

A major highlight of CPM is its role in advancing projects from various programs under the Content Lab 2025 project: Mid-Career: Project, Mid-Career: Story, and Mid-Career: Animation — alongside open-call works, totaling 54 teams. Each team gains opportunities to pitch directly to investors and commercial partners, fostering both business potential and skill development towards international standards.

Mr. Chaiyong concluded: “CEA is dedicated to building a comprehensive creative economy ecosystem for the content industry — ranging from talent development and creator incubation to platforms for business negotiation and global networking. We recognize that Thai content is more than entertainment; it is a powerful form of soft power capable of generating revenue, creating jobs, and elevating the nation’s international image.

According to the 2020 Input-Output Table, investment in the content industry — particularly in film and series as well as broadcasting — delivers economic returns greater than the investment value. For every 1 baht invested in these sectors, an average of 1.8 baht is generated in overall economic value. This clearly demonstrates that investment in the content industry is a critical driver of Thailand’s broader economic growth.

Looking ahead to 2026, CEA aims to expand the Content Project Market onto the international stage, focusing on Asia as a key target market while fostering collaboration with partners across the region. The goal is to create a more connected and thriving creative ecosystem for both Thailand and Asia, elevating Thai content to global standards and positioning the country as a regional marketplace for content trading. The Content Project Market thus serves as a vital mechanism in driving Thailand toward becoming a future hub of the regional content industry.”
